Handira Wedding Blankets

Moroccan Wedding Blankets, also known in Morocco as Handira's, come from the High Atlas Mountain villages. Each is lovingly created by the women of these Berber villages for a Bride in anticipation of a family wedding, each is a one of a kind including handwoven wool, clusters of shiny metal sequins and tufts of billowing cotton and artfully woven kilim Berber bands. These vintage, delicate and intricately crafted blankets were once adorned by a Bride as a cape and its no wonder that they have become a favourite covering of the interior design world when styling living and bedroom spaces.
